Cultivating Communities of Belonging

The Second Circle creates a safe space for meaningful communication and connection in our frenetic world. Through the masterful guidance of the Kahakulei team, we can move beyond the latest email or headline and build bridges to our shared humanity.
— Robin Toma, Executive Director, Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations

Listen to Kevin answer questions about the Second Circle methodology.

The circle is the oldest and most common organizing formation in humanity. People across time, geography and culture have met in circles. There is no hierarchy in the circle. Circles are inherently inclusive spaces where all voices are heard, respected, and honored.

Drawing upon traditions across cultures, the Second Circle connects people in ways that promote appreciation, integration and healing. When people trust the process of the circle, transformation happens.

We offer circles in 1-hour, 2-hour, and 3-hour formats. Themes could include:

  • Gifts on the Table

  • Getting to Pono (Right Relationship)

  • Navigating Change

  • Building the Bridge/Being the Bridge

  • Assembling your Reality

  • Peace Within

  • Revolutionary Love

  • When things get difficult, turn to wonder

  • Speaking your Truth

  • The Principle of Creativity

  • Secrets

  • The Dynamics of Gender

  • Incouraging

  • Welcoming Spaces
